Upcoming Tonari Gumi Coffeehouse – Saturday, March 16th, 2013
The next Tonari Gumi Coffeehouse will take place at Tonari Gumi on Saturday, March 16th, from 2:00 pm to 4:15 pm.
The Coffeehouse will feature live performances from several outstanding community-based musicians.
Making their return to and co-headlining the Coffeehouse will be Eiichi Ishikawa (guitar and vocals) and guitar / fiddle duo Fiddlestix (Cary Grigg and Janet Noade).
Eiichi will perform songs from his large and diverse repertoire that includes folk-rock, J-Pop and contemporary Japanese and Western songs. Accompanying Eiichi will be Nami on keyboards and vocals.
Coffeehouse favourites Fiddlestix weave a wild mix of music borrowing from their diverse backgrounds. Celtic, Métis, Swing, Pop, Old Time, Acadian/Cajun, East Coast, Rock, Experimental, Original compositions, and Storytelling are all combined to create their unique sound.
Rounding out the Coffeehouse program will be singer-songwriter, Toshio Kikuchi, who will be making his Tonari Gumi debut, guitarist Martin Kobayakawa, and vocalist Janet Tsukioka, accompanied by pianist Anne Appenheimer.
Admission is by donation ($5), with all proceeds going to Tonari Gumi.
