About Elise:
Elise Gee is a sake educator and writer based in Vancouver, B.C. She was the first Canadian to receive two certifications in sake conferred by The Sake Education Council, having passed her exams at the Japan Sake and Shochu Brewers Association in Tokyo. In 2008, she moved to the U.S. to help establish the first sake brew pub outside of Japan at moto-i, where she was assistant brewer and taught sake classes. Making her own sake, having 7 of those brews on tap was an amazing, enlivening, albeit back-breaking experience she’ll never forget. Now back home in Canada, Elise continues to share her sake love with tastings, seminars and regular dispatches for EatNorth.
