Life for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia can be quite difficult. This is because these caregivers may find it hard to communicate with others about their emotional disturbances, and because the symptoms of the people they care for continue to worsen, despite their efforts.
There are local support groups in many communities. For caregivers, however, they can still experience difficulty when it is challenging for them to express their feelings and to comprehend information in English.
To overcome this language barrier, Tonari Gumi is organizing a Japanese support group for “family caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia”. The objective of this group is to provide family caregivers with a safe environment where they can exchange their feelings and experiences in the Japanese language.
Family members and caregivers of individuals with Alzhemier’s disease and dementia are all welcome to this meeting. If interested, please contact Tonari Gumi.
