CLINIC DATES: Monday, March 3 ~ Friday, March 21, 2025

Tonari Gumi Community Services and our Tax Filing Volunteers host the "Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinic" for those with modest and simple income sources. Please check eligibility and contact Community Services Staff for filing requests.
Who is eligible:
65 years old +
Single with an annual income of $35,000 or less
or a Couple (2-person household) with an annual income $45,000 or less
You are ineligible to participate in the clinic if you:
Are filing taxes on behalf of a deceased person
Have filed for bankruptcy
Are self-employed
Have capital gains and/or losses (those with T3 slips)
Have a business or property income
Do not meet CVITP requirements. CRA website here.
Required documents:
T4 (OAS), T4A(P), T4, T5007
Pension documents from other countries
Tax credit-eligible receipts (donations, TransLink monthly pass, etc.)
The most recent (last year's) Notice of Assessment
Procedures:
Tonari Gumi Community Services staff meets with clients and checks required documents before filing.
Staff then refer documents to Tax Filing Volunteers for online filing, which may take up to 2 weeks. Please let Community Services staff know if you live in BC Housing and/or need to present a filing report by a certain date.
* In-person filing dates at Tonari Gumi facility will be available after March 3rd, 2025.
When online filing is completed, Community Services staff will contact the client to return all documents, including the online filing confirmation number.
